Membership Changes Coming in October 2018

With a new Squash Season starting up, we’re excited to announce a new membership structure. This is the result of consultation with our membership and research into other clubs.

As of October 1st 2018 the new membership structures will be as follows:

1. 1. 1. PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP – $89 per month (reduced from $99):
         1. Members will be able to book up to 2 WEEKS in advance
         2. Members will be able to have 3 ACTIVE PRIME-TIME BOOKINGS at a time and UNLIMITED NON-PRIME-TIME BOOKINGS (one per day)
         3. Ball Machine Access
         4. Only premium members are eligible to play ESL (Interclub)
         5. Unlimited Drop-in Program Access
         6. $35/month ESL fee will be dropped and replaced with a TEAM FEE (Read more about that here)
      2. BASIC MEMBERSHIP – $49/month (unchanged):
         1. Members can book 1 WEEK in advance
         2. Members have 4 court bookings/uses per month (PRIME TIME and NON-PRIME TIME)
         3. Unlimited Drop-in Program Access

         **NOTE: This category of membership will no longer be available after October 1st 2018. However current Basic Members are welcome to continue with this arrangement indefinitely.

      3. NON-PRIME TIME MEMBERSHIP – $49/month (NEW)
         1. Members can book 1 WEEK in advance
         2. Members will be able to have unlimited bookings in NON-PRIME TIME (one per day)
         3. PRIME-TIME bookings will be charged a Drop-in fee of $20
         4. Unlimited Drop-in Program Access

      ***PRIME TIME  is 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM Weekdays
      10:30 AM – 1:30 PM Weekends during Interclub Season

ESC Fun Facts:

• We are a not-for-profit organization
• We have been operating for 3 years
• We currently have 292 members. That’s a 21 % increase over last year
• We have 215  male members, 44  female members and 33  junior members
• We rely on volunteers to support tournaments and do court maintenance
• The cost of towels are 3% of our budget
• Rent & utilities consume 29% of our budget
• Salaries are 28% of our budget
• Our membership fees contribute 57% of our annual revenue
• Beer (and other food and drink) proceeds are 8 % of our annual revenue
• We are supported by key sponsors for tournaments, TVs, furniture, trophies, plaques, pro
  lessons, etc to help support our community, our club, and reduce expenses.
• The club provides funding and services to grow our junior and women’s programs
• We have a  64% of singles court time free between 9 am and 4 pm
• The doubles court is unbooked 92%(!) of the time. We will be working hard on this stat
• We are very close to becoming cash flow positive and expect to achieve that during the 2018/19 year
