The Edmonton Squash Club is pleased to announce a two-night women’s squash extravaganza March 16-17, 2018. Featuring World #2 Raneem El Welily (Egypt), World #14 Victoria Lust (England), World # 21 Salma Hany (Egypt) and World #36 and reigning Canadian Champion Hollie Naughton, the tournament will consist of semi-finals on the 16th, and Gold and Bronze medal matches on the 17th. Tickets are $150 for a two-day pass and will include an automatic entry in a draw to play a game against one of the four pros on Friday night.
Also on Friday night, local juniors will have the opportunity to play 3/4 court with the pros at 6 PM. This will be followed by the random-draw matches with the crowd at 6:30 PM, with the semi-final games to follow after at 7:15 PM.
On Saturday, there will be a St. Patrick’s Day Women’s drop-in from 3-5 PM. It is free for all ESC members and open to the rest of the public for the usual drop-in fee. Sign-up for the drop-in by contacting the front desk or filling out the form here. Around 5 PM there will be a meet-and-greet with food and drinks available for purchase, followed by a random draw among all the women’s drop-in players for 4 games against our visiting pros at 5:45 PM. Then we will have a match between two top young players: Nour Elhendawi from the ESC and Bethany Churchill from Calgary at 6:30 PM, with the 3rd Place and championship matches to follow afterwards.
