Good squash, good food, and good company—the first ESC Women’s Squash Social mixed these three ingredients for a fun, satisfying, community-building event. Novice to expert, junior to senior players gathered on Saturday afternoon from 3 till 8 pm. We played old friends and new, singles and doubles, thanks to Aya’s excellent organization and an effective and “alarming” bullhorn contributed by Krystal Belanger! After the casual hits, all gathered on the doubles court and sang Happy Birthday to Krystal with an ice cream cake brought by Sandra. Supper was a time for great conversation over a simple delicious meal of pasta, Caesar salad, and dessert, with some free and discounted drinks. Thanks also go to Caroline de Vries and Lindsay Buchanan for organizing the food and Antonella and Romina Rodriguez for running registration and name tags, contributed by Heather Looy.
