PSA Women’s Exhibition 2018 Recap

What a fantastic couple of days we had here with Raneem El Welily, Victoria Lust, Salma Hany and Hollie Naughton! If you weren’t able to make it, here are a few photos and videos to get a sense of the atmosphere.

Friday Night

The event kicked off with two 3/4 court games with local Juniors and Victoria and Hollie on one court and Raneem and Salma on the other.

Here’s a video of the action on court 4 (editor note: if you would like full access to all 5 video angles, just email the front desk and we will let you know how you can do that).

Mohammed hit a couple vicious winners into the front right off of loose balls much to the delight of the crowd. This is how things looked when Victoria got her sweet revenge on Mohammed. Also, check out the evil cross-court nick of the serve Victoria pulls on Mollie at the end of the video.

Following that, we had our four lucky draw winners go head-to-head against the pros. Here are a couple:

Andrew Linklater against Hollie Naughton

Paul Gutteridge against Raneem El Welily

Finally, we got to the main event. In the first match Victoria just nipped Salma in 5 tough games.

And in the second match, Raneem and Hollie played four entertaining games

Saturday Night

After a drop-in hit with the pros and participants in our Women’s drop-in, our night kicked off with a great match featuring two top local young players from Edmonton, Kensy Balch and Nour Elhendawy.

Then there was the 3rd place game with Hollie and Salma.

And then the grand finale, Raneem against Vicky.

Thank you so much to our title sponsors McLean and Shaw and Economical, as well as Harrow Racquets, Sandhills and Thinktel for their financial and logistical support. Without you, these events would not be possible! Thank you also to Marc Moreau for emceeing and Joe Mann for the action photography, all the volunteers that came out to clean at the event, and of course for Ibrahim Elserafy for organizing as usual.

Here are a few images of the event.
