Junior Programs

The Edmonton Squash Club is excited to offer our Junior Squash Program once again! The Junior Program will run from September – June for our junior athletes to train. This program has many new players joining all of the time but we also have experienced Juniors that are working towards competing in Junior tournaments and more! Our programs offer professional coaching so your athletes learn excellent technique and tactics in a fun and positive atmosphere. Jeff Williams is the main coach for our Junior program and he brings over 20+ years of coaching experience in Edmonton and has worked with many juniors to compete at the provincial and national level.

Junior Program (General)

The Junior program is offered on Sundays of almost every week during the school year. Based on the fees for the program your athlete will have a Junior Membership for the months of the session as well as the program itself. This is to encourage your young athlete to come to the squash club for the Junior sessions but also for hitting sessions with friends, family or even just by themselves.

– Session 1: Sep 12 – Oct 31 (7 Weeks)

– Session 2: Nov 7 – Dec 12 (7 Weeks)

Cost: $40 per month for ages 5-7 on the doubles court

Cost: $90 per month for ages exclusive of HP Juniors

The groups will be broken down based on ages however skill levels will be accounted for to accommodate the athletes that improve significantly.

Group 3B – Ages 5&6 – Times would be 10am-11am on the Doubles Squash Court

Group 3A – Ages 6&7 – Times would be 11am-12pm on the Doubles Squash Court

Group 1A – Ages 13+ – Times would be 1pm-2pm on courts 1&2

We are also offering a version of the Targets, Targets, Targets for juniors. This program will be offered to those juniors looking for some extra court time with like-skilled players. The sessions will work on improving technique and skill acquisition. The length of time can be 1 hour during the daytime or 45min in the evening. Depending on what you would prefer. The session can be structured for 4 – 6 weeks. The ideal number of participants for these sessions would be 3 people. However, 2 – 4 participants will also work well.

Dates and times to be decided with participants and Coach

Cost is based on the number of participants, the number of sessions and the length of time of those sessions. For example, this program for 3 people going for 1-hour sessions for 4 weeks would be a total of $93.33 for each person. Optimally we would like to see a minimum of 4 sessions to allow participants to see the full value of the program.

We are offering a HP Program for our athletes that want to compete and excel at provincial and national events. This two day a week program will offer competitive drills that will challenge our athletes and help them compete in the tournament setting.

This program will teach you the rules, etiquette, basic techniques and tactics so that by the end of the session you will know how to play a full match. There will be 4 sessions offered over an 8 week period. This allows you and possibly the other participants of these sessions to come and use the Club.
